Do you feel like baking a dog cake for your pooch? Does your doggo love eating cakes but you can’t seem to get one from a bakery? You have arrived at the right place.
We all have a little baking craze within us, seeing all the pictures of tempting cakes on Instagram makes us want to grab the tools and bake one ourselves. But seems like a handful task, right? Plus, so many ingredients that you require for the cake, the craze slowly starts to fade away. But guess what? We have a very simple recipe of a dog cake for you which you can easily bake within 30 minutes!
Ingredients
Let’s take a look into the ingredients that you would require to bake a dog cake-
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1/4 cup applesauce unsweetened
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream pr peanut butter for frosting
These ingredients are very common so it should not be a problem fetching them (pun intended!).
And if you don’t want to use an egg and you want to bake a veg dog cake then you can use mashed banana instead of the egg.
Steps to bake a cake
Now comes the part of the instructions. The following steps are all you need to carry to bake a dog cake for your fluffer ball:
-
Just like baking any other cake, the first thing to do is to preheat the oven to 350°F.
-
Now take a 6-inch round cake pan (or any cake pan) with parchment paper (optional) and coat it with a layer of butter or oil, or you can use a nonstick cooking spray also.
-
Take the ingredients in a bowl- flour, baking soda, baking powder, peanut butter, oil, applesauce (if you like), egg, and honey to add a little bit of sweetness, and give it a stir. Then pour into a pan.
-
Bake for 20-30 minutes, until it becomes brown in color. You can know when a cake is done by poking it with a toothpick in the center and it comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.
-
For the frosting, you can use heavy whipped cream or peanut butter. If you want it to be colorful, you can add colorant as per your wish in the frosting. Frost the cake however you want.
-
You can store the cake by keeping it covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
You can also decorate it with soft dog treats, dog biscuits, and some sprinklers.
To sum it up-
Quite simple, right? We would be posting more such recipes for dog cakes in different flavors for you to try.
